Houston Music Conference shows and events are curated and presented by Houston’s most influential brands, labels, promoters, and cultural tastemakers. Over the course of the conference, HMC hosts dozens of events across panels, showcases, and live performances, celebrating the diversity and creativity of the Houston music community.
HMC shows remain one of the most impactful platforms for artist discovery, networking, and cultural promotion.

What We’re Looking For in an Event
We don’t just produce shows—we’re looking for innovative, immersive experiences that celebrate Houston music, culture, and artistry. When reviewing submissions, we consider:

Unique concept or theme – Does your event stand out?

Multidisciplinary approach – Dance, food, art, style, film, and music are all welcome

Cultural relevance – Does it represent a movement, neighborhood, sound, or style?

Talent quality – Are the performing artists, DJs, and creatives exceptional?

Curator experience – Does the producer have a track record of executing events?

Thoughtful planning – Is every detail considered, from flow to production needs?

Special production requirements – Any unusual technical or creative elements?
Top Reasons Events May Not Be Accepted
While each submission is carefully considered, these are some common reasons events don’t make the cut:

No confirmed talent – Ideas are great, but HMC needs to know who will perform.

Insufficient information – Complete, detailed submissions allow us to evaluate your event properly.

Concept conflicts – If a similar event is already booked, we may not be able to produce another like it.

Lack of uniqueness – We want events that are fresh, relevant, and culturally impactful.

HMC maintains a strict no pay-for-play policy. All events are curated based on quality, innovation, and cultural relevance, ensuring a fair and authentic platform for artists and producers.
